To celebrate her day, we decided to go for a Piggy bank theme party since she has starting taking interest in money, savings and the likes.

NIGERIA FLAG CAKE, CUPCAKES & PULL APART CUPCAKE

Like I will always say, with cakes the possibilities are endless. In this case I should say with "CUPCAKES"...

The above picture shows how the Nigerian Shell Community in Gamba - Gabon, celebrated Nigerian 56th independence.

They opted for cupcakes as against the norm, which I must say was a good decision because the cupcakes EFFORTLESSLY and ELEGANTLY drew home the reason for the celebration.

I do agree with the popular saying that goes thus; "There is beauty in simplicity".

This is because we have done this particular design for a couple of clients with little tweaks to suit the theme of their event and the request is still pouring in.

PEPPA PIG CAKE

My son is the biggest Peppa pig fan I know hence we decided to go for a Peppa pig cake.

You should have seen his face when he saw the cake, he was practically glowing. His eyes were glued to it. He didn’t know when he started calling out their names, mummy see, Chisom (his sister) see, Peppa pig, George and so on.

He then turned and said mummy I love you. My heart literally melted (smiles).  When deciding on the cake to make for him, we wanted a cake that he can relate with but the reaction we got was beyond our wildest imagination.

LETTER CAKE AND A GIANT ROSE CAKE

To say my heart was of full of gratitude, will be understating how I felt yesterday and I’m still feeling now.  I became a year older and when I look around me, I can only see the beauty of God’s blessings and for that, I say, “thank You Lord”.

To mark the day I decided to stay off fondant but as I worked on my cake, the giant rose kept beckoning. I caved in but not completely as you can see in the pictures. My name (ADA) was  covered with desiccated coconut and of course the rose with fondant. 

GEOMETRIC CAKE

Did I here you say, “How does geometry come into cake decoration?” (Smiles)

Geometry is a branch of mathematics that deals with shapes, sizes and relative position of figures. This principle is now being applied in cake decoration, enabling us to create bold and beautiful patterns on cake.

 

Hence, a geometric cake is simply a cake decorated with shapes of one or more sizes to create a definite pattern. Colours also play an integral part in this technique. (See below for pictures).

OPEN BOX OF ROSES CAKE

Roses come in different colours and each colour has a significant connotation.

For our cake, the client has chosen light pink, which is a symbol of affection and admiration.

This cake can also be used for other occasions like sending a thank you message, cheering up a friend, starting up a new relationship or even nurturing an old flame.

Pink roses are very versatile and can be used to express the right emotions without saying a word.

THREE TIERS 50TH BIRTHDAY CAKE

Our cakes are tailored specifically to suit the needs of our clients. For this glorious occasion our client opted to go with silver and white instead of gold, the norm, given the number of years.  And I must confess that not only did these colours do justice to the cake, it also showed class and elegance, which is the only way to describe the celebrant.
